Glass we specify

The right glass for the job

The right glass is a spec decision, not a preference. On every quote we call out what we are proposing and why, so the fit-out lead, insurer, or building manager can sign off with confidence.

Toughened (Grade A safety)

Heat-treated for 4 to 5 times the strength of ordinary glass. Breaks into small blunt fragments. Required for full-height doors, low sills, and most commercial storefronts.

Laminated (Grade A safety)

Two panes bonded to a PVB interlayer. Stays together when broken, so it stays in place. First choice for overhead glazing and security-sensitive tenancies.

Insulated units (IGU / double glazed)

Two panes separated by a spacer and dry air or argon. Cuts thermal transfer and noise. Commercial specs regularly run 6-16-6.

Low-E coated glass

Microscopic metallic coating that reflects long-wave heat. Available on single or double glazed. Paid back fastest on west-facing office frontages.

Acoustic laminates

Purpose-built acoustic interlayer. Meaningful drop in traffic, aircraft and machinery noise. Sensible for offices near the Nepean flight path.

Fire-rated & safety glazing

Where the BCA calls for it. Integrity or integrity-plus-insulation ratings, sourced through specialist suppliers, installed to the manufacturer’s system.

Compliance and standards

Every commercial job we hand over meets these. Certification and documentation is included as part of sign-off, not an extra.

How it runs

How a commercial glazing job runs at Panther Glass

Five steps from your first message to sign-off. Every job follows the same pattern so nothing gets missed.

1

Quote or site visit

Send us the drawing, a photo, or the address. For fit-outs we quote off architectural drawings. For replacements a photo and rough sizes is usually enough.

2

Measure

Once accepted we template on site. Old frames rarely sit square, so we measure, not assume.

3

Fabricate

Panes cut and edge-worked to spec. Toughened panes are laser-marked with the AS/NZS 2208 stamp, visible after install.

4

Install

Scheduled around your trades. After-hours, weekends and split shifts available for tenancies that need to keep trading.

5

Sign-off

Certification, install report and stamped-glass photos handed over as part of the final invoice.

FAQs

Commercial glazing questions answered

The questions we field most often from fit-out builders, facility managers and business owners.

Do you handle both new-build glazing and replacements?

Yes. About half our commercial work is new-build fit-out or major refurb, and the rest is replacement, insurance and reactive repair. Same team, same standards.

Can you keep our tenancy trading while you replace glass?

Usually yes. We make-safe the opening the same shift, and return with the correct pane during agreed hours. For shopfronts we often install pre-trading or after close so nothing is boarded up during customer hours.

Do you deal with insurance claims?

Yes. We provide the damage assessment, quote, and installation report your insurer will ask for. Payment is usually direct-billed once the claim number is confirmed.

What is the lead time on commercial glass in Penrith?

Standard toughened panes cut and installed in 1 to 3 business days. Custom laminates or oversize IGUs typically 5 to 10 business days from confirmed measurements. Rush orders available for insurance and emergency jobs.

Are your glaziers licensed and insured?

Yes. Licensed, fully insured for commercial and residential, and inducted for site work. Full public liability documentation supplied on request.

Can you supply glass only to my glazier or fabricator?

Yes. Cut and stamped panes supplied to the trade with pickup or delivery. Ask for our trade sheet.

Tell us what the job needs. We will come back fast.

Photo of the opening, rough sizes, or a set of drawings. Whichever you have, that is enough to get a commercial quote moving.
