Patio door repair covers stuck, dropped, jammed or damaged sliding patio doors: aluminium-framed sliders, timber-framed bi-folds, stacker doors, French patio doors and cavity sliders. Panther Glass repairs the glass, rollers, tracks, locks and weather seals, and replaces whole patio door units across Penrith and Western Sydney.
Patio door types we repair and replace
- Sliding aluminium patio doors, the most common domestic and commercial style. Single, double or triple track configurations.
- Bi-fold patio doors, 3, 4, 5 or 6 panel folding systems, aluminium or timber-framed.
- Stacker patio doors, multi-panel sliders that stack behind each other, no fixed panel.
- French patio doors, hinged double doors, timber or aluminium.
- Cavity slider patio doors, pockets into the wall for a full-open aperture.
- Commercial patio doors, heavy-duty aluminium sliders for cafes, restaurants and hospitality venues.
Common patio door problems we fix
- Worn or seized rollers, the door drags, jumps off the track, or squeals when opened. Most common failure at 5 to 10 years.
- Damaged or corroded track, the aluminium track wears or bends, catching the door. Track replacement or infill repair.
- Cracked or smashed glass panel, same-day make-safe, replacement next business day with toughened safety glass.
- Dropped door frame, hinges or top brackets sag, gap appears at top or bottom.
- Failed lock or handle, replacement of common patio door lock systems (Whitco, Doric, Lockwood).
- Weather-seal failure, perimeter brush seals wear out, letting draughts and water in.
- Blown seal on double-glazed patio door, condensation between the glass panes means the IGU seal has failed and the unit needs replacing.

Same-day repair for jammed patio doors
A patio door that will not open or close is a security risk. We prioritise these calls and reach most Penrith and Western Sydney addresses inside 90 minutes during business hours. Roller and track repairs are usually completed in one visit; glass replacement follows the standard cut-to-size timeline.
When to repair vs replace
Rollers, tracks, locks, seals and glass panels are all repairable at reasonable cost. Consider full unit replacement when: the aluminium frame is bent or corroded, the door is 20+ years old and every seal is failing, or you want to upgrade to double-glazed IGU units for energy efficiency. See our double glazing explainer.
Standards and compliance
- Toughened safety glass to AS/NZS 2208 (Grade A), mandatory for all patio door glazing
- Installation to AS 1288
- Compliance with AS 2047 for windows and doors in buildings

Frequently asked questions
My patio door is stuck, can it be fixed today?
Usually yes. 90% of stuck patio doors are worn rollers or a damaged track, both fixable in a single visit. We carry the most common Whitco, Doric, Cowdroy and Lockwood roller sets on the truck.
How long does a patio door roller replacement take?
Typically 60 to 90 minutes on-site. We lift the door off, replace the rollers on both leaves, adjust the track if needed, refit, test and hand back a smooth-sliding door.
Can you replace just the glass in my sliding door?
Yes. If the aluminium frame is sound, we replace just the glass panel. Common on double-glazed sliders where the IGU has fogged up: we remove the old unit, measure, order a matching IGU and swap it in a single follow-up visit.
Do you install new patio doors or just repair?
Both. We supply and install new aluminium sliders, bi-folds, stackers and French patio doors from all major Australian manufacturers, and we repair what you have when repair is cheaper than replacement.
How much does a full patio door replacement cost?
Standard aluminium slider replacement runs $1,800 to $4,500 depending on size and glazing spec. Double-glazed IGU units add roughly 30 to 50%. Bi-fold and stacker systems start higher. Free on-site measure and fixed quote before we order anything.
