Louvre types we fabricate
Different jobs need different blades. Plant-room screening needs weatherproof blades with drip flanges to keep rain off the equipment behind. Facade sunshade louvres need optimised blade pitch to block summer sun while allowing winter sun through. Privacy screens want tighter pitch and deeper blades so you can’t see through at an angle. As an aluminium louvres manufacturer we run all three from the same workshop, so the finish, colour and detailing match across a whole building.

Materials and standards
Blades are extruded aluminium, typically 100 mm to 300 mm deep depending on span and load. Framing is powder-coated to Interpon or Dulux Duratec depending on the specifier’s brief. All frames and blades are engineered to AS 1170 wind loads for the site’s terrain category and importance level. On the coast we upgrade fixings to marine-grade stainless. In the Penrith and Blue Mountains area we spec standard grade 316 where the facade is exposed to airborne salt from the truck runs on the M4.
Sunshade design
Sunshade louvres only work if the blade angle actually blocks the sun you’re trying to block. We take the facade orientation, the latitude and the summer and winter solar angles, then pitch the blades to cut summer sun above about 45 degrees while letting winter sun through below 30 degrees. Cheap catalogue louvre systems don’t do this. They pick one angle and hope for the best. For a serious facade the difference in cooling load is measurable in kW.
Working with builders and architects
Most louvre jobs come through architects, facade consultants and design-and-construct builders. We work from shop drawings or generate our own from architect intent drawings. Sign-off happens on the shop drawings before fabrication, so what turns up on site matches what got approved. Lead time from approved shop drawings to delivery is typically 4 to 6 weeks for standard powder coat colours, longer for anodised or Duratec finishes. On combined jobs where the architect has specified frameless glazing and sunshade louvres together, we co-ordinate the reveals and mullion positions so nothing clashes.
Timeline and installation
Standard louvre facade installation runs 3 to 8 days on site for a 30 to 60 square metre facade, depending on access and whether we’re working off scaffold or an EWP. Motorised operable louvres need an electrician to terminate the actuator wiring, which we co-ordinate but don’t self-perform. For plant rooms and roof-mounted louvre walls, we usually run a crane hire day to lift the sub-frames in.
Cost drivers
Blade depth, frame size, motorisation and finish drive the price. A standard 200 mm blade sunshade louvre in Monument powder coat lands around $650 to $950 per square metre supplied and installed. Motorised operable louvres are more like $1,400 to $2,200 per square metre. Custom perforated infill panels are priced per drawing. For any facade job over 10 square metres, we quote fixed-price after a site measure. Related fitout work like commercial windows and shopfronts often gets bundled into the same project.

Usually yes. If the extrusion is a standard section we can match it. If it’s a custom die from another manufacturer, we’ll suggest the closest visual match.
Do you offer motorised operable louvres?
Yes. We supply and install actuator-driven operable louvres wired for BMS integration or manual switch control.
What’s the maintenance schedule?
Powder coat washdown once a year with mild detergent. Actuator service every 3 to 5 years for motorised systems.
