An after-hours emergency glazier call-out in Penrith typically adds $250 to $450 to a standard job, on top of materials and labour. Same-night make-safe with brackets and ply boarding is usually $300 to $550 all-in for a residential window or door.
What the after-hours fee covers
- Out-of-hours dispatch, getting a licensed glazier and a truck on the road within 60 to 90 minutes of your call.
- Materials on board, ply boards, brackets, screws, sealant and the most common standard pane sizes carried as stock.
- Make-safe, opening secured against weather and intrusion before we leave.
- Documented condition, date-stamped photos for insurance, time-of-call records, scope of damage.

How emergency call-outs work
You call. A glazier on the on-call roster answers, takes the address, type of damage and access notes. ETA confirmed on the call. We arrive with boards, brackets and tools. Most overnight breaks are made-safe within 60 to 90 minutes of the first call. Glass cut to size is fabricated and installed during the next business day.
For routine emergency work during business hours, see 24/7 emergency glass repair.
What we will not do at 2am
- Cut large panes on-site, toughened glass cannot be cut after manufacture, and templating in the dark is a recipe for misfits. The pane lands the next business day.
- Work at height without proper rigging, anything above ground floor is made-safe and scoped, replacement scheduled for daylight.
- Quote final replacement cost without daylight inspection, the emergency call-out fee is fixed; the replacement quote follows the morning after.
Frequently asked questions
Is the call-out fee waived if I go ahead with the repair?
No. The call-out fee covers out-of-hours dispatch and make-safe, which is a distinct service from the eventual replacement. Both are itemised on the invoice.
Do you take card payment on-site?
Yes, tap-and-go, EFTPOS or invoice. For insurance work we bill the insurer directly where the policy allows.
How fast can you get there at night?
Inside 90 minutes for most overnight calls across Penrith and Western Sydney. After midnight is usually faster, less traffic.
Do you work weekends and public holidays?
Yes. The 24/7 emergency line answers Saturday, Sunday and public holidays. Weekend daytime work is charged at standard rates; nights and public holidays attract the after-hours fee.
