Double glazed windows St Marys 2760 owners come to us for are usually about hushing the M4 corridor and the Charles Hackett Drive industrial estates, then cutting the summer heat that runs through single-pane aluminium. We measure, spec the IGU and install without disturbing tenants next door.
Booking a Double Glazed Windows St Marys home measure
For double glazed windows St Marys owners commissioning, we spec the IGU to the actual opening and elevation rather than one-size-fits-all. Homes near the M4 or Charles Hackett Drive get an acoustic laminated outer, western elevations get the low-e treatment. Every double glazed windows quote is itemised so you see exactly what each opening costs.
Site measure and installation
We measure each opening on site rather than off drawings, then build the IGUs to the exact size in our workshop. Installation days are one to three depending on the number of openings, and we always work room-by-room so you can still live in the house.
What double glazing costs
As a rough guide, retrofit double-glazed units in a standard aluminium frame run from about $650 to $1,500 per opening supplied and installed, depending on size and glass makeup. Custom timber-frame or full window replacements sit higher. Every quote is itemised so you can see exactly where the money goes.
- Insulated glazing units built in-house with 6 mm or 6.38 mm laminated outer glass on demand
- Low-e coatings and argon or krypton gas fill on standard IGU makeups
- Thermally broken aluminium and timber-composite frames for retrofit or new-build openings
- WERS-certified U-value and SHGC figures on every quote so you can compare on numbers
- Retrofit the IGU into your existing frame or replace the whole window as required

Frequently asked questions
Can you keep my existing frames?
Sometimes. If the existing frame is thermally broken and structurally sound we can swap the IGU into it. Older single-glazed aluminium frames are often not suitable, and a full window replacement gives a better long-term result.
Will double glazing actually cut noise from a busy road?
Yes, if the outer pane is laminated. A 6.38 or 8.38 mm laminated outer with a 12 mm cavity and a 6 mm inner cuts perceived road noise by around 10 to 15 decibels versus single glazing. Argon fill helps a little too.
